Digital Mammography
Digital mammography is the most significant advance in detection of breast cancer since mammography was first utilized as a diagnostic tool. Digital mammography takes an electronic image of the breast and stores it directly in a computer using less radiation than film mammography.

PET/CT
PET/CT Scan is now available at Community Hospital.
PET (Positron Emission Tomography) is an advanced molecular imaging procedure that provides a way to diagnose disease through the measurement of metabolic activity.

This Siemens HighRez Biograph Six PET/CT system offers:

Heart Wellness Scan
Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the United States. One way to determine cardiac risk is through a heart wellness scan (coronary calcium scoring). The 64-slice CT scan detects the presence of calcium in the coronary arteries, which is a marker for arteriosclerosis. The test is $135 and can be completed in approximately 10 minutes. Radiology Awards
Community Hospital Awarded Prestigious American College of Radiology Accreditations Community Hospital’s radiology department has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine, mammographic imaging, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Mammographic imaging has been ACR accredited since 1999.

“Community Hospital’s voluntary efforts to complete the lengthy, rigorous process to become ACR accreditated demonstrates our commitment to quality patient care and provides a level of confidence for patients and referring physicians that the highest quality of care is provided by our facility,” stated Dr. Todd Hegstrom, radiologist. “The ACR certification gives assurance that the staff and equipment have passed ACR’s meticulous evaluation.”

The ACR headquartered in Reston, VA, awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment.

The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health services.

Community Hospital is the only facility in western Colorado to have ACR accreditation for mammography, (CT), MRI, and nuclear medicine.
