Good health is important for a successful college experience. The Mesa State College Student Health Center’s goal is to provide quality, accessible medical care. Medical treatment and prevention is provided for students and their dependants, similar to the services of a family physician.
Hours
Monday – Saturday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday: 12 noon - 4 p.m.

After hours, please use the Community Hospital emergency department located one block north at College Place and Walnut Avenue.

Eligibility
Students, who have paid their student fees, and their dependants may use the student health center services and are eligible for student discounts at Community Hospital and Orchard Pharmacy. You must present your valid student I.D. card when using any of the associated health services or discounts.
Co-pay Fees
Students using the student health center are required to pay a $15.00 co-pay (RMHMO patients may have a separate billing arrangement).

An additional fee will be charged for special services which include: procedures, vaccinations, laboratory tests, etc. These fees are outlined on the student health services fee schedule, available at the health center.

  1. Physical examinations, pap smears, etc.

  2. Diagnosis and treatment of illness

  3. Injury treatment and follow-up care

  4. Health education/counseling and pamphlets

  5. Diagnostic laboratory and radiology services

  6. Immunizations

  7. Family planning education and birth control
Health Insurance
You are not required to have health insurance to use the health center, however all students are encouraged to have coverage. Please bring your health insurance card.
Pharmacy
Eligible students/dependants receive a 15% discount at Orchard Pharmacy located next to the student health center at 1060 Orchard Avenue.
After Hours and Emergency Care
In the event medical care is needed after hours, service is provided by the emergency department at Community Hospital. Please use the emergency entrance on Walnut Street.

Students/dependants will be assessed by a triage team to determine the level of care required. Co-pay fees apply if treatment is non-emergent, otherwise emergency care and physician fees are the student’s responsibility.

Eligible students receive a 20% discount on all hospital services. Transportation fees (ambulance) are the student’s responsibility and charged by the carrier.
The staff of the Mesa State College Student Health Center is composed of healthcare practitioners and physicians. The health center is operated by Community Hospital.
