The fact is, all mammograms are not created equal. So before you make your next appointment, make sure you know all the facts. Like the fact that Community Hospital was the first to offer digital mammography in the Grand Valley. We're willing to invest in your health, your comfort and your peace of mind.
Digital mammography is the most significant advance in detection of breast cancer since mammography was first utilized as a diagnostic tool. Digital mammography takes an electronic image of the breast and stores it directly in a computer using less radiation than film mammography.

Our digital mammography system offers optimal imaging for early detection and the utmost in comfort. Dr. Sally Gaglione is a radiologist, a woman, and a member of your community, so she has three good reasons she wants to make sure you know the inside story on Community Hospital's digital mammograms:

"Screening mammography is our best tool for the early detection of breast cancer as it can detect an abnormality long before it can be felt. Digital mammography is the newest innovation on the market. It has been proven to be better than the previous method in three specific categories, while it is at least as good in all other categories. This new system also includes an automatic second reading of each mammogram by a computer system."
– Sally Gaglione, M.D., Community Hospital radiologist
